Winter Guard International

Winter Guard International is a non-profit organization that produces indoor color guard, drumline, and winds competitions. WGI colorguard is split into two subsections–scholastic (affiliated with a school, usually middle or high schools) and independent (usually made up of perfomers who are out of high school). Those subsections are then split again into classes–Indepedent A class, Scholastic A Class, Independent Open Class, Scholastic Open Class, Independent World Class, and Scholastic World Class. Groups can perform in their respective classes at both regional events and at WGI World Championships, usually held in April in Dayton, OH.
